As well as academic schooling, we endeavour to give all our students a rounded education that includes both emotional and spiritual support, and also give them opportunities to learn skills that will enable them to take responsibility and support their own families in the future.
The two main areas of vocational training offered to all secondary students alongside their schooling is farming and brick making. Some of our secondary students who would be unable to afford higher education have joined a scheme called 'Farming for a Purpose' which enables them to gain valuable farming skills as they farm and grow crops that are sold and the profits put aside for their own futures.
Other vocational courses can be arranged. We have students who have gone on to take courses in nursing (and been employed in the Health Clinic), nursery school teaching, tailoring and car mechanics.
"If we don't show the children love they will never know in the whole world that there is anything called love. That's why I want to build the Children's Centre to show the love of God to the children in our country." Stephen Jota, Uganda.
